    The AKAL Airporter stops at the hotel every half-hour to transport guests to and from the airport. Additional transportation options include rental cars and taxis.

    Many of the area attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to and from downtown, Tillicum Centre, and the Great Canadian Casino. For guests who want to travel beyond these points, a rental car is recommended. Driving in Victoria is uncomplicated, although drivers are advised to first familiarize themselves with Canadian regulatory road signs. The city’s harbor ferries also offer a great way to cross the Inner, Upper, and Victoria Harbours and to get one’s bearings from the water.

    The hotel’s 200 rooms and suites are divided between the original, four-story north wing and the newer, six-story south wing. Because the hotel is L-shaped and located on a small peninsula, all rooms offer balconies and views of the Inner Harbour. Decor is spare and Asian in style, with blonde-wood furnishings and Asian artwork. All rooms and suites are non-smoking, and all include both dial-up and high-speed Internet access for a fee.

    Suites feature black-marble accents, shoji-style sliding doors, and bathrooms with deep marble tubs and floor-to-ceiling glassed-in showers. Small pets are permitted (fee), but are allowed on the first floor of the north wing only.

The hotel’s tranquil atmosphere is underscored by the Asian art and streamlined decor that appears throughout the property and by the expanse of green space between the hotel and the shoreline. Two wings form an L shape, meaning that all guestrooms have water views.

    The hotel has gardens and ponds, and, inside, a swimming pool and spa tub. A small fitness center on the property offers cardiovascular equipment. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle to downtown locations.

A walking path along the harbor is also just four blocks from the hotel. A variety of Victoria tours are available as well, including walking, driving, and bus and boat tours.

Among the local courses are Cedar Hill Golf Course, less than four miles from the hotel, and Olympic View Golf Course, not quite 12 miles from the hotel.
